On Thursday, June 7, 2012, Value Drug Company (VDC), a cooperatively owned wholesaler servicing 525 independent community pharmacies and long term care accounts in Pennsylvania and six surrounding states, held a groundbreaking event for a new 195,000 square foot facility in Duncansville PA, to be named Value Distribution Center.

“For over 75 years, VDC has been located in the Altoona area and we’re thrilled that we can stay in the area for many years to come,” stated Rody Tibbott, Chairman of the Board VDC. “Our current distribution center is 100,000 square feet and we will be nearly doubling our warehouse capacity with this distribution center,” added Tibbott.

The $25 million project is projected to be completed by the Summer of 2013. Financing is being provided from PNC Bank, the Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority, the Altoona-Blair County Development Corporation, and company equity. “We are excited to be a continued part of VDC’s growth and commitment to Blair County and look forward to the building dedication next year on this state-of-the-art distribution center,” said Steve Foreman, Chairman of ABCD Corp.

This facility will include state of the art technology that will increase efficiency, accuracy and productivity which will allow us to increase our distribution region beyond our current footprint. Building this Value Distribution Center new facility will retain our local jobs with the potential of creating more in the future.

“In the incredibly competitive environment that we operate, efficiency and capacity are premium qualities, which will be significantly improved with this investment” added Greg Drew, Value’s President. “We are proud to be continuing the tradition of growing to meet the needs of our community pharmacy base of Value affiliated locations across our
